Almagate BP is a Hydrated aluminium magnesium Hydroxycarbonate having the formula of Al2Mg6(OH)14(CO3)2,4H2O. This is a white or almost white fine crystalline powder. It is insoluble in water, ethanol (96 %) and methylene chloride. It is widely used as an antacid raw material in various antacid formulations.
